Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Purple Hat Ventures, LLC (“we,” “our,” or “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use Purplecast, Countdown of Trump, Maze Trekker, our websites, and our support and privacy-request services (collectively, the “Services”). Each product works differently, so the information collected depends on the Service and features you use.

If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the Services.

Purplecast

• Account and profile information, including your email address, display name, public handle, account identifier, optional avatar, joined date, account and Community privacy settings, Plus entitlement state, verified-reviewer status, and applicable moderation or administrative status. Login credentials are processed by our authentication provider; we do not receive plaintext passwords.
• Your saved shows, movies, games, and podcasts; watched, played, or listening history; first-completion, rewatch, or replay activity; favorites; ratings; reviews; helpful votes; notification preferences; device time zone; account settings; and data exports you request. Anime is handled within Purplecast's TV tracking model.
• Podcast tracking information, including the podcasts you add or favorite, Podcast Index feed and episode identifiers, episodes you mark as listened to, and your catch-up progress. We use identifiers and activity to provide tracking features; current podcast catalog details are obtained from Podcast Index.
• For You recommendation information, including your library, favorites, history, ratings, and your save or pass decisions. Purplecast uses these signals to tailor recommendations and remember titles you have acted on. This is product personalization, not targeted advertising.
• Community information if you use Community features, including your handle, bio, avatar, profile-privacy and mention settings, comments and replies, spoiler labels, mentions, reports you submit, blocked accounts, and Community activity or notifications, and administrative or moderation records related to submitted content.
• Push-notification information, including a device token, platform, permissions, preferences, delivery or diagnostic information, and history needed to avoid duplicate notifications. We also receive subscription or entitlement information, such as product, store, renewal, and expiration information, if you use Purplecast Plus.
• Limited product analytics and operational information, such as feature interaction, media type, search-result range, import result, notification-permission result, widget open, paywall or purchase step, and feature-flag exposure. Hosting and security services may also process IP address, user agent, request URL, timestamps, performance information, errors, and rate-limit records.
• Import information if you choose to use IMDb CSV, Trakt, or Simkl. This can include the file or account data you authorize us to retrieve, matching results, and import status. Connected services have their own terms and privacy practices.

Countdown of Trump

• Countdown of Trump does not require an account. It may store a cached copy of app content on your device so current reference material can load reliably.
• The app requests quotes from a third-party quote service. That service may receive ordinary request information such as your IP address, device or browser type, and request time.
• The mobile app displays Google AdMob ads. Google and its partners may process device information, advertising identifiers, IP address, approximate location derived from IP, consent choices, and ad interaction and performance data.

Maze Trekker

• Game progress and settings, including level, score, completed mazes, best time, energy status, premium status, sound, haptics, swipe-control preference, and save timestamps. This information is stored on your device and, when available, synced through your Apple iCloud account.
• If you use Apple Game Center, Apple provides a player identifier, alias, display name, authentication status, leaderboard scores, and achievement progress as needed to provide Game Center features.
• If you purchase Maze Trekker Premium, Apple processes the transaction and provides the app with product and entitlement status. We do not receive your full payment card details.
• Free versions may include Google AdMob advertising. If ads are enabled, Google and its partners may process the advertising information described above for Countdown of Trump.

Websites, support, and privacy requests

• Information you submit, such as your name, email address, selected app and request topic, app version, device details, message, and any other information you choose to include.
• Basic technical and usage information, such as IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, performance information, and request timestamps. We use IP addresses submitted with support requests for short-term rate limiting and abuse prevention.

• Provide, maintain, secure, and troubleshoot the Services.
• Authenticate accounts and sync libraries or game progress across devices.
• Power recommendations, ratings, reviews, Community discussions, statistics, leaderboards, achievements, and other features.
• Deliver notifications you request and transactional communications.
• Process purchases, verify entitlements, and apply premium benefits.
• Display and measure advertising only in other ad-supported Services, where offered.
• Moderate public content, prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our rules.
• Respond to support inquiries and privacy requests.
• Understand performance, improve the Services, and comply with legal obligations.

We share information only as needed for the following purposes:

• Service providers: Vendors that provide hosting, data storage, authentication, content data, analytics, advertising, notifications, email, moderation, billing, customer support, and security may process information on our behalf.
• Public Purplecast content: Ratings and approved reviews may be visible to other users with your display name, avatar, and any applicable verified badge. If you use Community, your public handle, bio, avatar, comments, replies, spoiler labels, and profile sections you choose to make visible may be shown to other users. Ratings may contribute to aggregate Purple Rating scores, and other users may mark reviews as helpful, reply to a Community comment, or mention you if your settings allow it.
• Platform services: Apple, Google, and their related platform services process information when you use app-store purchases, Game Center, iCloud, push notifications, or mobile advertising.
• Legal and safety: We may disclose information to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, enforce our terms, or protect the rights, safety, and security of users, the public, or the Services.
• Business transfers: Information may be transferred as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets.

Purplecast does not sell personal information or use it for targeted or cross-context behavioral advertising. Purplecast does not use advertising SDKs, advertising identifiers, Google Mobile Ads, Google AdMob, Google AdSense, or App Tracking Transparency permission for advertising.

The Services currently use or may interact with the following providers:

• Purplecast: Neon for authentication and app data; TMDB for TV and movie metadata; IGDB, a Twitch service, for video-game metadata; Podcast Index for podcast metadata; Vercel Blob for avatar storage where used; OpenAI for review, Community-content, and avatar moderation; RevenueCat, Apple, Google Play, and Stripe for purchases and entitlements; APNs and Firebase Cloud Messaging for push notifications; Resend for transactional email; Trakt and Simkl for user-authorized imports; and Vercel for hosting, operational logs, and product analytics.
• Countdown of Trump: Google AdMob and Google's consent tools for mobile advertising, plus the What Does Trump Think API for random quote content.
• Maze Trekker: Apple Game Center, iCloud, and the App Store, plus Google AdMob where advertising is enabled.
• Purple Hat Ventures websites: Vercel hosting, Web Analytics, and Speed Insights, plus our email provider for support and privacy requests.

These providers process information under their own privacy policies. Purplecast uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.

Purplecast is ad-free for everyone. Countdown of Trump and Maze Trekker may offer advertising as described above. Any advertising choices, device permissions, or consent controls for those products are separate from Purplecast.

Purplecast Plus is a supporter membership, not an ad-removal product. It may provide early access to selected features and a distinct Plus member badge.

Purplecast Plus purchases are processed by Apple's App Store on iOS, Google Play on Android, or RevenueCat Web Billing powered by Stripe on the web, with RevenueCat managing subscription status across platforms. Maze Trekker Premium purchases are processed by Apple's App Store.

We receive only the product, store, subscription or entitlement status, renewal, and expiration information needed to provide paid features. We do not see or store your full payment card details. Deleting an app account does not automatically cancel an active subscription; manage subscriptions through the store or billing portal where you purchased them.

Purplecast push notifications are optional. If enabled, Purplecast uses a device token, your time zone, and your notification preferences to send release alerts for titles you follow. You can turn notification types off in Purplecast settings or disable all notifications in your device settings. Signing out detaches the device token.

• Purplecast caches your media library in local browser or app storage to support faster and offline use. The authoritative copy remains associated with your Purplecast account, and the cache is cleared when you sign out or remove the app. Cached data may include content used for your library, recommendations, and Community experience.
• Countdown of Trump stores a local content cache. You can remove it by clearing the site or app data or uninstalling the app.
• Maze Trekker saves game progress and settings on your device and, when available, through Apple iCloud so progress can sync between your devices. You can disable iCloud for the app through Apple settings.

We retain information for as long as needed to provide the Services, maintain security, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Retention periods vary by the type of information and Service.

• Purplecast users can export their account data and delete their account from Settings. Account deletion removes Purplecast profile data, library and activity history, podcast-tracking data, recommendation decisions, ratings, reviews, votes, Community profile and activity data, push tokens, and related subscription records from Purplecast systems, subject to limited legal and security retention.
• Countdown of Trump does not maintain an app account. Local cached data can be removed by clearing app or browser storage or uninstalling the app.
• Maze Trekker local save data can be removed by deleting the app or clearing its data. Synced iCloud data, Game Center records, and App Store purchase records are managed through your Apple account and may be retained by Apple under its policies.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of personal information; restrict or object to certain processing; request portability; appeal a decision about a privacy request; or use an authorized agent. Rights vary by location. We may need to verify your identity and authority before completing a request, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right.

Submit a request through our Privacy Choices page or contact us using the details below. You may also use the applicable in-app, device, Apple, Google, or billing-platform controls described in this policy.

The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information in violation of applicable law, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

We and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries, which may have different data-protection laws than your country. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for these transfers.

We may update this policy as our Services or legal obligations change. The “Last updated” date above shows when the most recent changes took effect. If a change is material, we may provide additional notice where required by law.
